Project Team
The partnership includes all most relevant organisations from the states along the Danube River that are responsible for flood risk management. To reach the aims of harmonisation and joint transnational risk assessment the full spatial coverage of the river length is realised by the partnership. It comprises national (10) and regional (3) authorities responsible for environment, water management and spatial planning, non-governmental organisations (2) and research institutions (5). This partnership is formally in charge of all issues related with this project. This ensures financially, institutionally, and politically sound implementation of the project . The great added value is generated by this partnership since all organisations work on flood risk mitigation measures but none would be able to harmonise approaches on its own. Isolated approaches of up- and downstream regions do not lead to efficient solutions.
The involvement of the research institutions guarantees the most updated expertise and knowledge through involvement and consultation on the scientific background of flood risk assessment and the situation along the Danube River. The non-governmental organisations will involve the relevant stakeholders and guarantee consultation and the dissemination of project results. Relevant key actors will be involved in pilot projects by the project partners.
